Dreams 2 From his history research he had done at Troy State University, Telemakos was supposed to be a shy boy with no sense of direction in his life. It was not until Telemakos would find his father (really his mother in Bobby's virtual world) several years later that his emotional state would approach this level of intensity. Suddenly, Bobby felt the staff pierce the skin of his thin body and into his stomach. This was a strange feeling for him. Bobby did not seem to feel much pain from the blow. He only felt a weird sensation in his body as Telemakos twisted and turn the staff until it peered out the back of his body. With that, Bobby (Antinoos) collapsed on to the cold stoned floor. As Bobby's eyes closed, many of the objects in the room began to disappear. Telemakos, the stage, the Great Hall, tress, the sky all faded into a black void of nothingness. Meanwhile, in the true reality, Bobby had been on VR-DEP for nearly and hour and was beginning to go through the first stage of side-effects associated with the VR-DEP drug. These side-effects are brought on by the brain's continuous production in elevated levels of psycho-synaptic dreaming andorphans. The first stage of these side-effects include: mild convolutions, moderate raise in body temperature, contraction of the hands into tight fist causing ones finger nails to cut into their hand, and a complete lack of bladder control. If a few cases it has been known that people have died of an overdoes of VR-DEP in the middle of the first stage of these side-effects. However, most people live pass this first stage, only to meet paralysis or death in latter stages. Bobby awoke to find himself in what seem to be a bedroom of a royal castle. He was laying on the floor next to a bed which had recently been slept in. He was wearing a long red silk robe with gold trim that was being held together by a rope-like tie keeping in closed. His efforts to try and raise his body from the cold floor were in vane. So Bobby decided to wait a few minutes so that his body could gather the strength to hopefully get off the floor. To keep himself occupied, Bobby began to notice the great detail on the ceiling of the room that he was in. The ceiling told the story of the Great Trojan War in which Bobby had not yet got to experience first hand like the strange man in black promised he would. It told of the great Greek horse that entered the castle walls by Trojan's own hands and laid plunder to the great city late at night while many of the citizens were fast asleep in their homes. The story also told of a wise man named Laocoon, who had warned his fellow Trojans that the horse was nothing but trickery from the Danaans to get inside Troy's great walls. To prove his point, the old man thrust a sword into the horse's belly which caused a loud grown from inside. But the others disregarded the man's warnings and proceeded to pull the horse further into the city walls. Then, a woman entered the room and walked over to Bobby still laying on the cold floor. Her beauty amazed him. Could there possibly be such a beautiful woman in all the land, reality or not?. She had long black hair that seem to reflect the sunlight in all directions, lighting up anything it touched to a peaceful glow. Her skin tone was one of tremendous pleasure to look at. And oh, and those wonderful looking breast of hers. How he would love to. . . Bobby was immediately in love with this woman he knew nothing about. As Bobby tried to get up off of the floor to show a little respect toward the woman, the tie which kept his robe closed was caught on the corner of the bed and loosen the knot that was there. As Bobby stood up the robe rolled off his slim shoulders and on to the floor. There he was (probably in the most embarrassing moment of his life) standing in front of the most beautiful woman he had ever seen before, in nothing but a ripped piece of stained loin cloth. He quickly retorted his position and pulled the robe back over his skinny shoulders. Surprisingly, the woman did not speak to him. She only look at him with eyes of malice. Bobby was unsure what to make of her expressions so he decided it was time to break the ice between them to try and find out what was going on. Little did Bobby know, you can't break the ice of someone who has a heart that frozen solid. Bobby then spoke with a slight nervousness in his voice: "Hi, my name is ah. . ah. . ah" He could not think of what to call himself. He knew that if he chose to speak the wrong words to this wonderful woman he had fallen in love with, surly she would call her guards to come take him away and to have him beheaded. Then, in a sudden speech of only a few sentences, the woman spoke: "I know who you are. You are Jason, husband of mine; and I am Medea wife of many years to you. The one that has bore you several male heirs, but to which you do not seem to care." Ok, his name was Jason and he was married to this wonderful woman named Medea. But this facts seem to go in one ear and out the other, for Bobby (Jason) was so captivated by her beauty he could neither think nor see anything else but her. As Medea continued talking to Bobby the image the he had of this wonderful woman quickly faded into darkness. The sunlight no longer reflected from her hair bring new life into everything it touch. Now it seem to bring only death and darkness as her true personality began to rear its ugly head. With the lack of light in the room, her heavenly skin tones dulled to a reddish-brown, almost like a rusted color. This freaked Bobby out totally. This was no longer the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, but possibly related to the devil himself. `Oh coward in every way - this is what I call you, with bitterest approach for lack of manliness, you have come, you, my worst enemy, have come to me! . . . . Friends you have injured, - no, it is the worst of all human diseases, shamelessness. But did you well to come, for I can speak ill of you and lighten my heart, and you will suffer while you are listening. And first I will begin from what happen first.' Bobby could not believe what he was hear from this woman's lips. But he knew he had no choice but to listen what she had to say or else something was bound to happen to him. Medea continued with her hash words toward Jason, not knowing that it was actually some CPA from Wilmington, South Carolina named Bobby. She accused Bobby of being a trader to their family and to the love they were mint to share together. She argued how it was her that help Jason retrieve the golden fleece so that he may rule their kingdom. It was she who bore him male heirs like he wanted, but still nothing she ever did satisfied him. As the accusation went on, he discovered that he had eloped with Medea's sister, Dido (remember, this is virtual reality, anything can happen.) without Medea's knowledge. Medea expressed her dislike for these action by Bobby (Jason) and was branding him to nothing but a shameless fool. Bobby also learned that Medea was already going to be banished from, what he assumed was his father's kingdom, for something that she refused to elaborate on. Bobby still realizing that this was VR (Virtual Reality) went along with Medea's accusations. "Okay, yes - you have saved my life many a time, and you did help me get the golden fleece so that I may become ruler of this land. But keep in mind woman, it was me that saved you from the horrible depths from which you lived for so many of your years. It was me that gave you a nice home, clothes, and food. It was me that allowed you to share my bed and bare my children. Without me, you would go right back where you started from; you would be nothing. But please understand, I do love you Medea. What I did, I did for the good of my kingdom and its people. I had no intention of trying to harm you. You should be happy for me. With Dido I could have more male heirs to my thrown." With those remarks, Medea slapped Bobby as hard as she could and ordered Jason to get out of their room so that she could be left alone to think. With that, Bobby decided it was time to become someone else. All this was becoming to much for one man to handle. In a brief flash of light, Bobby was instantly transported into the body of a woman stand in a loan corner of the large room. He watched as Jason slowly walked out of the room, his head low with emotions of sadness but anger at the same time. Bobby noticed that no one in the room seem to pay any attention to the fact that he was there. It was as though he did not exist, but yet he could hear and see everything that was going on around him. "I will make Jason pay for what that trader of our love has done to me," said Medea. "I will strip this shameless fool of all his dignity, and all that he holds dear! No man shall every treat me again like the way I have been treated by Jason. May he burn for an eternity in the depths of the underworld." This completely shocked Bobby (unknown). He was glad not to be Jason any longer. To feel the wrath of this woman's scorn would surely bring death to him. He had already experienced death as Antinoos in the Great Hall by the hand of Telemakos. He sure as hell did not want to experience it again and. . . Bobby's train of thought was interrupted by Medea's continuing to speak in a irritated voice of what she will have done to Jason. "I know, I will have a dress made for Jason's lovely new bride Dido. I will have it laced with poison, so that when she puts the dress on, she may die a slow and painful death. I will also kill the children which I bore him. Then, he shall have no wife and no male heirs to his ridiculous thrown. Oh, but my children. How could I possibly kill my own children? They mean so much to me as it is. Could I possibly take them with me when I go to the house of Aigeus; the man that will be my savior after I have committed these treacherous acts that are brewing in my head." Medea called for Jason to return so that she could speak with him on the matters of which the argued. She proceeded to deceptively tell Jason how sorry she was for the way she acted towards him. `Jason, I beg you to be forgiving towards me for what I have said. It is natural for you to bear with my temper, since we have had so much love together. I talked with myself about this and I have reproached myself. "Fool" I said, "why am I so mad? Why am I against those that have planned so wisely? Why make myself an enemy of the authorities and of my husband who does the best thing for me. . ." When I considered this, I had shown lack of Great Sense and that my anger was foolish. I now agree with you [and] I think you are wise. . .' Now, Jason I no idea that the speech just given to him by Medea was nothing but a ruse to get Jason to trust her long enough to accomplish what she had planned. It was apparent to Bobby that he did not exist in this strange twisted love story that was sure to mean the fate of someone in this very room. Realizing he could not be seen or heard, he tried his best to follow Medea around the many corridors of the castle in an effort to understand her way of thinking and how she planned the many executions she spoke of in her chambers. Two days later, Bobby awoke in the middle of the night lying on the chamber floor in the same spot and position Medea had found him when he was Jason. He was awaken by the screams of children in one of the many long hallways in the castle. Bobby jumped up off the stoned floor to find Medea gone, her bed not even slept in that night. Bobby ran frantically down hallways, screaming Medea's name. But, Bobby was so engrossed in trying to find where Medea and the children, that he forgot he could not be seen or heard by anybody. After a few minutes (again, only a few seconds in true reality) Bobby ran down the last long dark corridor. His heart was racing, racing to the point that he believed that he would pass out before he ever got to the children. However, the coldness and dampness of the dark hallway keep his senses heighten and gave him the urge to find the children who were nothing more then innocent by-standards in this couple's maternal combat of problems. Finally reaching the end of the corridor, Bobby found Medea pushing her children, who were bound and gagged, into a closet. Medea then grabbed a wooden spear, much like the one Telemakos had trusted into Bobby when he was Antinoos. Bobby knew he had to do something to same the children, but what could he do for he did not exist in this world. [Maybe, if a concentrate enough I could grab that long staff away from her. Why not, it worked in the movie Ghost over two-hundred and fifty years ago,] he thought to himself. Bobby, then made a last ditch effort to try and save the innocent children from their mother. He tried to grab the wooden staff from Medea with some success. Unfortunately, Bobby did not realize how determined Medea was in killing her own children. "Who are you? What are you doing hear? Let go of my staff you fool or you shall be next. I cannot show mercy towards my enemies. I must kill all who will show my enemies that I am weak. Laugh at me will they never again. They will know the wrath of Medea! Let go you stupid fool." Finally, Bobby overpowered Medea's grip on the staff and began running down the dark hallway as fast as he possibly could. He knew that Medea would come after him. He was hoping she would so that it would draw her away from the children. Bobby ran into the court-yard - staff in hand with the infuriated Medea close behind him. There, they stared each other down until Bobby spoke bravely: "You are nothing but pure evil woman. Do you have no senses of humanity in you? Are you the daughter of the devil himself? These are your children. How could you care more about what your damn enemies think of you then the lives of your own children? Why should your children suffer for something you and Jason have put upon yourselves. You are a nothing but a coward in your on right. I believe Jason to do the right thing by marrying another woman. No man, not even the almighty gods deserve such a treacherous deceptive woman like yourself. Now go bitch, and be banished like was planned to begin with!" These words only made Medea more angry and hot-headed as she came closer and closer to Bobby. "How dear you talk to me in such tone of voice. I am Medea, I am better then all the gods of Olympus. You do not have the courage to strike me down. You are nothing but a tiny weakling that no one cares whether you live or die. You shall regret that you ever talk to me such as you just did. Death to you and all that you will ever hold dear in life!" Medea then charged Bobby with a small dagger she had hidden in between her bosom. Unfortunately for Bobby, he had no idea how to use the staff to try and defend off the mad woman attacker. [This virtual reality,] he thought, [she can't hurt me.] With that thought, Bobby threw down the staff and opened his arms wide. He stood their for a brief moment without a care in the world. Then. . . "huuuuha". The dagger had stabbed Bobby in the heart and the blade was pushed back as far as it would go. For Bobby, this was not the same experience he had had with Telemakos in the Great Hall. This somehow seem very real. Bobby screamed and hollered as Medea twisting and turned the rusty dagger into his hart. Blood from Bobby's heart was spraying and covering Medea's hands and face. Yet, she made no effort to stop her evil act to wipe her body. Then, Jason came out into the court-yard, screaming with authority the devilish woman's name. Medea then pulled the rusted dagger out of Bobby heart and turned towards Jason. Jason spoke: "Be gone woman. You show no love towards me and my family. You are nothing but evil itself, that grows on anything it can find. You love no one but yourself. And this is the way it should be; for no one will ever have anything to do with you again. I shall spread the words far and wide of your evil ways so that no man will every acknowledge your pitiful existence, not even the gods of Olympus. Now, be gone beast and never return!" Medea was not phased by the harsh words of Jason. Instead, she raised the dagger stained heavily with Bobby's blood and charge at Jason. Medea got about fifteen paces in front of Jason when one of his guards shot Medea with a flaming arrow into her chest. Medea slowly fell to the ground and called out to Jason. "Please forgive me for what terrible acts I have committed. I only did them for us and our love. Please remember that I will always love you Jason." Medea's eyes closed and her head fell flush with cobble-stone walkway. However, surprisingly Bobby was still alive. Jason walked over towards him just as Bobby took his last breath. The last thing Bobby saw before death finally caught up with him was one of Jason's attendants bring his children out into the court-yard and Jason saying, "Thank you stranger for saving my children. Your name shall be revered among my people for all eternity. May you rest in peace and the gods look upon your soul to be of good heart." Bobby then closed is eyes and crossed over to the other side. Several days later after Bobby had fail to report to his job, police were dispatched to his apartment to see if Bobby might have skipped town. After several attempts to see if anyone would answer the door, the police beat down the door and proceeded to search throughout the apartment. Officers found Bobby lying on the couch with his VR-DEP headset still in the ON position. The sides of his head had blood shot temples and officers could see where the level of the VR-DEP simply cause part of his brain to explode inside his head. The officers also discovered a large bruise over his heart, like somebody had taken their fist and punched him to death in the heart. Then one of the officers announced: "We got another one. A Virtual Reality Dream Enhancement Program overdoes. Somebody call the coroner to come get the body." RETURN TO: My Writings (4) |
