She uses a communication board to talk, a wheelchair for mobility and a feeding tube for complete nutrition. I am interested in sharing information with other parents concerning Assistive technology and chatting with older persons with CP or their parents on what the future holds for us. So far life has been great!

I am concerned about her future and what it holds for her. ie education, employment, dating (she is already talking about it) marriage etc.

Tracey G. gehrke525@aol.com  Alex was born at 29 weeks. She had a grade 4 bleed. She currently has a seizure disorder and non-verbal. She relies on us for feeding, getting her dressed, taking her from one place to the next. She cannot sit, roll, or walk. We have a new baby on the way and hope that this will help Alex out, she loves other children. She currently gets OT, PT, Speech and Music therapy each one time per week. She will start pre-school 2 days a week starting Aug. 15 thru Easter Seals. She loves to smile and loves for my husband and I to hold her. This is what we spend most of our time doing.
Nicola L. nicolalaing@lineone.net My youngest son Regan has spastic diaplegic CP. He has just got an electric wheelchair which has given him a new lease on life. He has an older brother named Callum who has mild CP also.
June R. juner@nwonline.net Tommy(2)[Spastic Hemiplegia] has brought many blessings into our lives and we are so thankful for the privilege of being his parents. Currently the biggest concerns for me are alternative therapies and hearing the successful and not-so-successful stories that others may have with the therapies they tried. We are currently researching and pursuing chiropractic care, hippo therapy, massage therapy, myofacial release, and TES. We will also be home schooling Tommy and would appreciate any input in that area.

Tahir Turgut tahirturgut@mail.com
My son  - Mustafa (9) and I have been trying to do my best since his birth to overcome this defect by applying some physical therapy and I have even made some toys for developing his nerves. Without knowing what to do but just a few advises from doctors , I tried every possible ways.

He can use his left hand just like a normal person but there is some movements like he can not hold his neck by his left hand without the help of right hand. He can not turn his left hand upside down like his right and his left arm is a bit shorter than right .

Why I write all these because I want to share my feelings with you which will make me feel that I am not alone. And also I want to know more about it if there is anything I can do from now on.
